An aphorism is 'a succinct-witty thought, formulated in prose, that contains an experience, a 'knowledge' or a wisdom (maxim)'.I like the shortness with which an author can express all that is needed (cf. the KISS principle).That is why they are fascinating to me like paintings, photographs, landscapes and other impressions.

Since I have no idea how many aphorisms I will finally present on the page I started to store them in a database. Please choose a category, an author or searchfor a keyword. It is possible to combine all three criteria to perform a search.
